On the beauty of the self hosting community
I've recently started diving more into self hosting, and it told me something incredible about the internet. In every corner of the Linux community, there is some kind of rivalty about what distro to use, witch is the correct desktop environment for your needs, or something stupid happening with the kernel. In self hosting land, people have way less of that polarisation. Everyone is going after the same goal: having true control over their own data. Are there discussions? Yes. Are there small fights? Yes. But the self hosting space is way less porarised, and actually fun to work in.
